The goal
Jacob Wheeler is one of the biggest names in professional bass fishing, and his YouTube channel has more than 195,000 subscribers. After his $100,000 win at Stage 2 of the Bass Pro Tour on Santee Cooper, he wanted to tell the full story of that tournament, told as a documentary rather than a highlight clip.
In tournament fishing, timing matters. Fans want the story while the win is still news.
The approach
We built "Biggest Gamble of My Career" as a true documentary: an 18-minute film with a real story arc, structured around the decisions and stakes behind the win, not just the catches.
Then we moved fast. We worked through 30 hours of footage, found the story inside it, and cut it down to 18 minutes. From start to finished film, the documentary was delivered in four days.
The result
The documentary premiered on Jacob's channel and has passed 72,000 views. That is long-form, 18-minute storytelling holding an audience on YouTube, delivered on a news-cycle timeline.
What it shows
Speed and story usually pull against each other. This project shows you can have both: a film with real depth, finished fast enough to matter.
